Christy Timm Fulkerson
Hi, I’m Christy Timm Fulkerson! I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist and full-time Ph.D. student in Tallahassee, Florida. My passion is serving children and families, and my research interests include language development, literacy development, and bilingualism.
I completed my full-time internship at Nemours Specialty Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and graduated with my master’s from Florida State University in 2019. Upon graduation, I completed my clinical fellowship with St. Johns County Public Schools and received my Certificate of Clinical Competency in 2020. Fall of 2020, I returned to Florida State University to pursue my Ph.D. in speech-language pathology with an emphasis on language and literacy development. My research focuses on the assessment and identification of Spanish-English bilingual students with language and reading impairments. During my time in Tallahassee, I have continued working as a speech-language pathologist with children in early intervention, preschool, elementary, middle, and high schools in Leon County.
When I’m not seeing clients or keeping up with my research, I love to travel and spend time with my family! This year, I’ve officially traveled to over 50 countries.
